The Shape of
Things to Come

The original prototype of this unit was first shown to potential customers in late 2001.  Since that time it has undergone several iterations.  The Model 2920 peeler, represents a major change for the company in how we design and build our famous food processing equipment. It truly represents what we call "The Shape of Things to Come."

The peeler is currently the focus of an extensive test program in a production facility where we have been given the rare opportunity to evaluate the design under “real world”, factory conditions prior to releasing it.  Based on test results and input from our customer, our R & D team has been able to “tweak” the design for optimum performance under a wide range of conditions.

Both Vanmark and our customer have been very pleased with the results of the test program.  Besides getting the chance to see the new peeler in operation, our customer has also gained some insights into how their older peelers were operating.  Although we are not able to disclose details, their discoveries have allowed them to make some changes which significantly improved line efficiencies.

The test program has also allowed Vanmark to try out some advanced design concepts, such as our unique “Natural Flow Gate”, that would simply not be possible in a laboratory setting.  The new gate which has since been introduced to the marketplace as an upgrade to the Series 2700 and 2800 peeler / washers with incredible acceptance.  In virtually every case where it has been installed it has made significant improvements to the peelers' efficiency.

A member of the design team commented that the new gate is something that has been a long time coming, simply because we have never been able to simulate the test conditions necessary to properly evaluate the design approach. The Natural Flow Gate has proven to work extremely well in improving peeler efficiency and the flow of product from the peeler.  It will be incorporated as a standard feature when the new model is released for production, expected sometime later this year.

Many other exciting innovations are built into this new peeler to enhance the original time-proven Vanmark design. Some of these are visible and immediately apparent, while others are more subtle and will only become apparent in operation.

Just a few of the many features designed into this new Vanmark Peeler are listed below.

Simpler design than any other peeler on the market

Fewer parts, less maintenance, and lower cost of operation means better profitability for you and fast Return On Investment.

NEW
Natural Flow Discharge Gate

Recent tests show remarkably smooth flow of product from the unit.  Reduces peel waste.  Better control of bed depth.  Improves efficiency.

Inherently more sanitary form

Rounded surfaces and fewer hard-to-clean pockets, shelves, crevices, and corners to collect unsanitary debris.

Flexible design

Allows upgrades and options to be quickly and easily added.

All stainless steel construction

No mild steel to cause corrosion problems.

"J-Bed" roller bed design

A Vanmark exclusive.  Much greater efficiency than older "U-Bed" designs.

"Waste grids" on both sides of the peeling chamber

A new Vanmark innovation - helps get rid of peeling waste quickly.

Left-Hand/Right-Hand Hinge on the discharge

Switch from left-hand to right-hand to suit your operation in less than a minute.

Unique gull-wing doors

Complete, unhampered access to the peeling chamber for servicing and cleaning.

"Application specific" roller bed configuration

A wide variety of brushes and abrasive rolls can be combined to give you the best peeling action for your product and conditions.

Ready for Automation

Because it comes standard with the Natural Flow gate, the peeler is "automation ready".  An upgrade, being tested in 2005, will be available to enhance your investment and make it even more efficient.

Vanmark's more than half century of experience

Vanmark stands ready to help you optimize the roll configuration to your operations.

Vanmark quality Designed and built into every unit.
